H2d multi material supports

I guess what I was getting at was simply that multi material seems like a devilishly difficult process to optimize. Too many variables. So if people are waiting for it to be as easy as loading and sending a PLA print, they may be waiting a very long while.

For me, it is a nice thing to tinker with and experiment on the side while making minis for my son, so I don’t mean any harm. It just seams like multi material is still pretty young in the consumer arena, The H2D feels like the first true consumer entry (I consider the Prusa XL to be just on the other side of what might be considered a consumer product) so expectations should be in line with the growing pains that entails.

Here is my most successful experiment with PVA so far. I printed some other controls as well.

These are the settings that were automatically changed when I defined a support interface filament:

I’d say the settings are correct, but something was still going wrong during printing.

Try bumping interface layer to 3. Sometimes I find more layers help keep it more rigid and bonded while pulling off from the model. Still, I get the occasional strands, but it does seem fewer as most of it comes off in chunks.*

** disclaimer: experience in X1C. H2D may vary, but let’s dot the i’s and cross the t’s before saying so.
