H2D no longer findable in network

I did not use my H2D for a few weeks, it was just too hot. Turned the printer on today, and neither the Mac nor the Phone are able to find the printer.

Bambulab on the Mac states “Failed to connect to printer”. Bambulab on the phone just reports the printer as “offline”. Both have the latest versions, the printer is running the latest firmware as well.

On the printer, i see that my network is working fine (IP, as well as test the network succeeds).

What i tried:

logout on the printer. rebind to the phone. Which worked, and the phone directly reports the just added printer as offline.

Changed the printer to get a fixed IP. (the printer is connected over wifi, tried 5ghz and and a brand new just 2.4ghz just for the printer).

I have not changed anything in my network config (that i am aware off, maybe there was some automated firmware update on the wifi router, but everything else is working just fine, and i can ping the printer just fine).

Any hint on how to debug this?

Frank

if your printer was using DHCP to get it’s IP address (rather than fixed address) and was offline for a while, another device could take the same IP address , and prevent your printer to get it back , as this would cause a conflict

iirc wifi is 2.4GHz only for the printer, 5GHz won’t be seen by the printer

if you want to check what’s going on, heve a look on the device providing the DHCP service (either your internet modem, or a separate server, or the wifi controler

I’m using DHCP on the printer, but have created a permanent IP@ allocation on the DHCP server : the X1C stays at the same address, and no other device will take this address

even in this configuration, the printer can become unreachable , even not answering a ping request
restarting the wifi controller is enough the reset the connexion and reach the printer
