I’m having .5 inch to 1 inch of filament oozing out of whichever nozzle or nozzles I used during a print job after the print job is finished. I’m having to move the tool head away from the poop chute area and pull the filament off the nozzle. I didn’t have this much ooze out of my X1C. Is this normal?
Its normal for the most part, if it bothers you it can be pulled. It will clear and wipe the nozzle before another print and will get rid of it anyways.

Moist filament will often cause oozing as the moisture expands and pushes the filament out.
How are you drying your filament?
I just started with 3D printing in January, 2025; however, I’ve kind of gone crazy with buying stuff to support my 3D printing. I have the following dryers: SunLu S4, Creality X4, SunLu S2 (it is a one spool dryer), and then two AMS 2 Pros with drying capability.
After each print job, I usually have up to .5 inch of filament sticking out of the nozzles of my H2D. I didn’t have that on my X1C.
If I don’t remove that small piece, it frequently ends up at a random spot on the build plate for the next print.
It’s usually the left side that oozes on mine and I believe thats due to it retracting. If you have ever swapped out the hotends you will notice about a 3/8" (6-8mm) piece of filament is stuck to the right hotend while on the left its nearly flush. It retracts before the filament is cut and retracted so there is pressure applied to whats in the hotend and that pressure relieves itself by oozing out the bottom. I rarely see any oozing from the right nozzle which is used more from what I see on my prints.
I had noticed that the right hotend has filament sticking out of the top and the left does not when I remove them. I use the right nozzle most of the time and it does have oozing depending on the type of filament.
The main thing is that it sounds like this is normal.
The height difference is caused by the height difference of the left and right filament cutter. The left one is located a lot lower.
Partially correct. I have the head apart, the cutters are at the same location on each side in relation to the extractor, its just looks that way because the left nozzle moves up and down. The reason the right head has more filament after cutting is because the eddy sensor is above the right nozzle between the hotend and cutter. The left nozzle doesn’t have an eddy sensor so the cutter is closer to the nozzle.
Mine does this on my H2C and my P2S. Doesn’t seem like a bad problem you’d think off glance since it’s wipes before the next print. Hasn’t been the case for me. Both of mine actually cause a clog so when I try to print again say the next day I get unable to feed filament into the extruder. If I was home it would be ok, but when I use Bambu Handy it’s just a waste of the day. I always have to try to remind myself to check the machine later and clean the nozzle.
I recently got an H2C. The H2C and P2S both leave about .25 inch to .5 inch of filament hanging from the nozzle. I usually pull it off with some needle nose plyers. If I leave it on, that small piece sometimes ends up on the build plate. I’ve gotten used to it so it’s not an issue any more for me.
Thats the purpose of the nozzle blocker because, Gravity. Even though the filament is cut and extracted, the nozzle is still hot, so gravity tends to pull on the hot filament. The nozzle blocker prevents this from getting on the print when the other one is in use, but when parked after the job is completed, there will be oozing, just how things work. My X1C does this too after a long print, but the wiper does a decent job cleaning the nozzle on that one, 300 hours and have not touched the nozzle on it. Wish I could say the same for the H2 Series, cleaning those every other day.
