Hey guys, my left have nozzle silicone socks keeps getting dislocated/dislodged and in a long multi-material print it’s just fallen off and I have left it.
I’ve owned several bambu’s, X1c, p1s and 2 A1’s and ive never had this issue. I have changed the left nozzle several times. I have 0.2, nozzels, 0.4 and 0.6’s.
I’ve changed both left and right nozzle’s many times but the silicone sock on the left is the only one that falls off.
I’ve order more just incase mine is a dude. I’ve only done around 100 hours printing
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
When installing it make sure its pushed all the way in and the bottom of the hot end is in the correct hole. Also make sure the holes on the sock have not ripped and become one. Thats when mine start falling off, when it rips between the holes.
Thank you, I literally ordered a 10 pack of these exact ones last week! I will order a 20 pack since the genuine OEM one lasted a few days lol and they are out it stock in the UK
My OEM ripped after a few hundred hours as well. The aftermarket one im still on my first one, and im at 1500 hours already. I bought two 20 packs but I guess it was not needed.
Just be more careful removing/installing them. The material is very thin and easily broken. Have 500 hours on mine without an issue. Pull them off from the top, put them on from the bottom so the tip doesnt drag across the ribs between holes.
I received my H2D this week and on the second print the left hand silicone sock was pulled half off and ruined the print.I had not yet replaced any nozzles and everything was stock standard. I replaced it the damaged sock, checked that it was on properly and nozzle wiping pad was in place securely. While watching the next print it happened again and seems to be caused while the tip gets pulled through the nozzle wiping pad. I can’t see a way round this other than to leave the sock off which isn’t ideal. This appears to be a design fault.
Same here; 5 prints from brand new printer and the wiper pad is getting expelled out its support. Support ticket was issued to addres this problem. Aparently our machine doesn’t have parts unaligned or badly assembled.
The spare wiper pad was installed resist a litle bit more but finally expelled as well.
Happened once to me just because I used an insufficient adaptive cubic. Infill lifted, nozzle hit and the cover was kicked away. Otherwise there is no way for the cover to detach
Well, I guess there is a first time for everyone. The other day my H2d created a HUGE, 56 gram, glob on the right nozzle. The sock was OUTSIDE the glob, and the entire print job was globbed around and UP the entire hotend tearing the insulation off the wires and slightly melting the part with magnets on the lift motor. After getting it all cleaned up and just looking at everything, I am beginning to think the issue was because the sock fell down and covered the nozzle causing all the goo to go behind it. There was not a DROP of goo on the bed. I think that if the sock starts to get sloppy on the hotend, replace it. What I still don’t know is why the AI did not stop the printer when it started to glob. It is supposed to, one of the advertised features and why I went all out on this because its supposed to prevent damaging events.
Also using a Kdavi or Frostbite plate can reduce the chance of this happening as the bed adhesion is so much better with those plates. The blob happens when the items lets go of the plate.
In my case the stuff never even reached the bed to stick, which is why I am thinking the sock was the issue. There wasn’t a speck of plastic on the plate.
haven’t had any issues with the sock falling off and I’m closing in on 1000 hours, wonder what the difference is? Slight tolerance differences in the socks? I’ve changed mine a few times, ordered extra from Bambu.
I’ll send using the Frostbite plate, awesome adhesion and no issues removing the print. I prefer the texture it leaves vs the PEI sheet, so that’s a plus.
