H2D stuck on loop changing filament

Has anyone else noticed the H2D getting stuck purging filament? I heard the printer in the other room knocking the purged filament down the poop hole and thought nothing of it, but then about 10 minutes later heard it was still doing the same thing.

I went and watched and it was stuck in a loop, purging filament then knocking it down. I had to cancel it after I witnessed it doing it around 3 times in a row.

I was printing with two PETG colours (Bambu filament from AMS 2), both on the left nozzle (nozzles are both 0.2 size). It had finished printing the first layer (both colours had been laid) before it got stuck in its loop changing back to the first colour for the second layer.

This hasn’t happened to me with petg, so it’s hard to say what might have happened on your end.

If you haven’t already, you can clean the camera and update to the latest 08 firmware that was just released.

Step8. Clean the nozzle camera and the toolhead camera

Thanks, this is happening on the latest firmware. I hadn’t tried this print with earlier firmware so can’t be sure if it’s a new thing or not.

I’ll try cleaning the camera.

The other possibility is the auto flush and I just remembered that I have mine disabled. If it happens again you could try this option.

Just so you know, I also use custom purge G-code.

Useful to know, thanks! It’s been ok today so fingers crossed it was a weird glitch…

It’s not looping forever, it’s just purging a lot to detect the flow dynamics because of your auto flow dynamics (k value) calibration failed. For 0.2mm nozzle, you might want to do it manually instead. But this might also be a sign of loose hotend seat.

ok, I’ll check if anything is loose. ta.

Hi, I’m having the exact same issue, layer 2 the tool head returns to purge the filament (PLA) and becomes stuck in a purging cycle. This runs for approximately 10 cycles (purging) and then stops with the tool head remaining in position. The hot ends then begins to cool down. No error messages are displayed,
My machine has done 120 hours and is 2 months old.
I’ve checked for anything that could be lose but all appears to be as it should.

I am having the same issue. When i start a print, it begins the purgin cycling and gets stuck in a loop. It does it every time and i can no longer print. I inspected everything and cannot find our what the cause is. Attempted a factory reset of the printer with no success. Ill be contacting bambu labs tomorrow and will give update when i hear back.

if using a custom filament preset, change it’s value in the multi filament tab for the flush temperature and speed.

Bambu’s studio update just messed up this, with 1500°C and N/A instead of 0 for default

I had the same issue yesterday with the infinite purging and changed those by checking what was the value for the default bambu presets and then everything was ok

I’ll give that a try. I ended up installing an older version of bambu studio and it resolved the issues i was having. Glad to know that the issue is software related.
