I will probably make the upgrade. I am grateful one will be available. I got the H2D around launch and was surprised another even more capable model come out 8 months later.
In reality I probably should have waited for the H2S. I’ve definitely used multi-color prints and even a few multi-material, but the amount I’ve saved on filament waste would take a long time to pay the difference, and the multimaterial prints didn’t really need to be…
I am interested in the technology though. Looks cool.
Unlike some, I have had ZERO issues with my H2D. However, I doubt I will take the jump in to the new machine/kit simply because it will not offer me anything worthwhile. I don’t print multi-colored stuff and use a fair bit of filaments that can’t go in the AMS systems (not to mention waste isn’t a concern for me), so there doesn’t appear to be any good reason to buy the add on. But I still like that they made it. It is just another case of Bambu playing chess with a room full of checkers players.
They are simply on a different level to the rest of the industry. I’m just going to wait for their high temp machine, as they go for the industry jugular.
Initial reaction was “OF COURSE!” but now that it’s been a bit I might just consider getting a standalone H2C down the line. My H2D has been perfect in essentially every way, and I do use it with the 40W laser. I don’t want to add more to maintain and clean, and I also don’t want to lose the extra right nozzle build space. I do have a model that would benefit from this that I print, but the return on investment for it may never come as I primarily do this for hobby, not profit. I love the idea of it and it’s a great way to remove purge (still have to prime). I rather have a 2nd auxiliary printer with the nozzle changer for prints that need it and keep my H2D as my daily driver
If it’s worthwhile and shown to be safe and working well I will upgrade. My H2D works perfectly and I fear an upgrade could change that negatively so I’ll first watch for peoples results. Anyway the multicolor prints I do haven’t many color swaps because I keep my designs limited to low color changes.
I will definitely not be buying a Vortek upgrade, as the cost is simply too high for me given that I only print very little in multi-color. I get along very well with the two nozzles on the H2D.
I think the conversion kit will cost at least €300 or more. I don’t produce enough waste to make this investment worthwhile.
Certainly no. Ill just throw money to the next good toolchanger or switch one of my customs to INDX. This…thing will just make an already issue plagued machine into a “moving parts that need to be perfectly calib’d” nightmare. I prefer to throw that kind of tinkering money and time in a real toolchanger, not a “lazy mans nozzles swapper”
