H2D with two AMS pro - restricted to use just one? (Bambu handy bug?)

Hello community,

I am fairly new to 3d printing itself and hope that you more experienced people can help me out.
I have an issue when using my H2D printer with two AMS 2 Pro and 8 different colored filaments inside, all PETG-HF.
Firstly, the AMS are both connected properly to the printer: one 6pin cable from AMS to AMS, second 6pin cable from first AMS to printer. Also, they are correctly shown in the setup/device menu of Bambu Handy App and the printer menu itself. I can use all options there including RFID filament scan, drying (got a power supply to the 2nd AMS) etc. The first AMS is connected to the left nozzle, the second AMS is connected to the right nozzle.

My issue:
When I want to print stuff from maker’s world via Bambu Handy app, only the 4 filaments of my (second) AMS, which is connected to the right nozzle, are shown. There is no way that I can chose any filament of my other (first) AMS, which is connected to the left nozzle.
How can I solve this and change to the other nozzle i.e. the other AMS/filaments?
When preparing the print in the menu, where I chose the filament (and use either filament saving or comfort mode - same filaments options shown in both), there is a small text which states “recommendation: right nozzle”.
I guess it has to do with the software or settings of the maker’s world creator, since there is no option to change the recommendation which nozzle to use.
Does this differ on the Bambu software for PC?

Could you please help me out? I would like to chose between every 8 colors via software. Right now, I am just swapping the AMS which are connected to the right nozzle.
The left nozzle itself is working though, when I disconnect the PTFE tube that connects to the right nozzle, so when only one AMS is connected.
Maybe for testing purposes, can you recommend a model that uses multicolor print with both AMS preconfigured?

I appreciate taking your time for this issue.

Thank you very much.

Hi there,

I’m experiencing the same problem. I can (after synchronising) use all my filaments on both the Mac and Windows clients but not in the handy app. That looks like a bug too me. NB: I use three AMS 2 Pros .

@SupportAssistant is that a known error?

I already opened a support ticket for that concern, as I thought the same, it being a bug - waiting for response.

I hope for more user reports to find a solution fastly.

I can confirm this is a known bug, and our team is working to solve this as soon as possible.

We apologize for this and appreciate your patience until this is fixed.

Thank you for the fast response, let’s wait patiently.

My assumption is that the Handy App uses pre-sliced models, which is why you cannot pick a filament from another nozzle.

Thanks for the reply, dropping a comment so I can stay abreast of the solution when it comes down.

Following as having the same issue

THanks for the heads up on this issue as I will be getting the new H2D with 2 AMS 2 Pros very shortly.

just for the record this bug also affects you if you move the ams from the right nozzle to the left nozzle. you can see the ams but when you go to print it no longer seems it as being attached…
