I thought the same thing. Looking back at the first print, that one was the same way. Definitely a settings/slicer issue.
I’m going to try something here soon as I get time. I’m going to try and see if changing the nozzle temp affects the outer wall bulges. Maybe lower the nozzle temp 10-15 degrees in that one band and then put it back up to normal. For science of course. Won’t know until we try! lol
Have you checked the file in question for errors after Bambu Studio imports it?
I’ve found Bambu Studio rarely automatically throws errors for STEP files, even when it should… Furthermore, it seems to me that Bambu Studio converts the STEP file to “simplified” 3MF (or STL) triangulated mesh in order to slice it (perhaps just like Prusaslicer certainly lamely does), which is likely to cause problems.
In any case, one can verify this “STEP to triangulated-mesh” conversion is done, by noting that Bambu Studio running on Windows PC calls Microsoft® 3DBuilder to check the STEP part(s).
If you navigate to File → Preferences, then check the box “develop mode” at the bottom, then new options will appear in the UI. Precise Walls will appear as a check box in the Quality tab.
Filament: Coca Cola bottle? You have a machine to recycle PET bottles into filament? Would like to hear more about.
All DiY filament recycling machines I’ve seen so far where more a proof of concept than really useful.
