H2S Toolhead Camera / Vision Encoder Never Initialized Since Delivery — Camera Replacement Did Not Resolve
Printer: Bambu H2S Serial: 0938AC582800905 Purchase Date: November 2025 Firmware: Current
Issue Summary: The vision encoder/toolhead camera has never successfully initialized on this machine since delivery. This is a day one defect — the vision encoder has never worked on this unit.
What I have done:
-
Opened a support ticket when the issue first appeared
-
Completed a toolhead camera replacement per Bambu support instructions
-
Camera replacement did not resolve the issue
-
Continue to receive “Failed to Initialize Toolhead Camera” error on every single print
-
I can ignore and resume and the printer functions normally otherwise
-
The vision encoder has never worked on this machine at any point
What I believe the next step is: Per Bambu’s own troubleshooting documentation, when a camera replacement does not resolve this error the next diagnostic step is the USB-C cable between the TH board and AP board, followed by the TH board itself. I am requesting these components be dispatched under warranty.
Current situation: I am trying to open a new support ticket but Bambu’s ticket system — both the website and the Bambu Handy app — will not accept log files in any format. The website won’t accept .enc files, the app’s “Upload Printer Log” function does not pull from the printer despite being on the same WiFi network with the correct serial number pre-populated, and zipped log files are rejected. I have spent considerable time attempting every available log upload method without success.
This machine is within its one year warranty period. I have already completed the camera replacement step as directed by support. I should not need to restart the diagnostic process from scratch.
Has anyone else experienced the vision encoder never working from delivery and successfully gotten a TH board or USB-C cable replaced under warranty? And has anyone found a working method to upload logs when the standard methods fail?
Any help or Bambu staff attention on this would be greatly appreciated.
