Btw: did you do a lot of tries with the connector? I was working on a thing and had similar connector piece and it was either too loose, too tight (to the point where it didn’t fit) or tight enough that a “container” turned into “sculpture”…

And 2nd btw: don’t forget to show the photo setup next time, your photos are very nice

i redesigned once, it was a bit too thick at first and wouldn’t flex properly to add in, there has to be a sweet spot indeed, and for me that was more on the tighter side, so it does require pressure to go in, especially on the first half, then connecting the second one is fine

i also find that using the section analysis helps during the fine tune, here’s what it looks like:

i’ve decided to create a new version for a chrismas tree, xmas tree · vase mode, it’s a full redesign, while maintaining the overall aesthetics and shape, with goal of printing the tree sections in vase mode and one piece tree trunk - while my first christmas tree is a ~28h print job, this one is at ~8h

also used a bit of a different lighting setup, using only one key light (90mm octabox) and having red xmas lights on the background
