Hardened Nozzle

I have the 0.4mm Hardened Nozzle - is there any reason to go back to the steel after installing the hardened? I mean, considering everything can be printed on the hardened, do I still need the steel?

As unlikely as it sounds this was just discussed.

I didn’t think there was any difference in temperature…
I mainly print PLA and I’ve been using the normal steel nozzle for Sparkle and Galaxy filaments, and have some Marble on the way, as well as a hardened 0.4 nozzle and a steel 0.2. My plan was just to install the hardened and leave it in, and just switch to the steel 0.2 for small prints that need more detail.

Its easy enough to change the nozzle, but less confusion if I just leave the hardened in all the time

You can just leave the hardened steel nozzle on there without any real concern. My X1C came with the hardened nozzle and I’ve used it to print pla, petg, abs, asa, pc, nylon, and carbon fiber filled; it’s quite a well rounded nozzle. You can keep the non-hardened one as a backup.

The only stainless steel nozzle they have in the store is the 0.2 mm version, I asked and they are not selling stainless steel nozzles in any other size at this time. They did not say they where just out of them.

Welcome to the forum!

The .2 and .4 are both available in stainless steel in the US store, I’m not sure why they would tell you that?
