Have to enter Password every time starting up printer

Its getting very annoying that i have to enter “Password” every time starting up the x1c printer. Initially i only entered the password the first time and no more. Suddenly a month or so ago it started asking for the password occasionally, now its every time. WTF over.

Can you clarify what password you are referring to about? It’s odd as I don’t ever have to update any passwords on my X1C’s. Are you running the printer in LAN only mode?

I can only guess you are referring to the WiFi password.

That is not the expected or typical behaviour.

I have never been asked for my WiFi password on any of my printers since the initial set-up.

This is NOT to buck-pass, could this be a router issue or something related to your WiFi?

Did this occur after a firmware update? If yes, you may want to downgrade to the previous firmware version, at least until any and all such bugs get sorted out (hopefully) by BL.

On the printer under network, and yes Lan only is selected. Its been about a year now running without this occurring.

nothing has changed with my wifi or the router

i didnt do an upgrade, i dont think they are automatic either

Have you tried a factory reset?

ahhh, no. I recall how difficult it was to set up the first time. i dont wanna go thru that again.

Second the factory reset suggestion by @drakko. Time an time again it seems to solve odd problems.

Adding more evidence as I’m having the same issue on P1S. It started at similar time as the OP (~2 months ago). When I turn the printer on, open Bambu Studio and try to connect, it says “Incorrect password”. I have re-enter the same password on every boot (subsequent prints work fine, until I turn it off).

  • printer is in LAN mode
  • the LAN password is still the same
  • printer is connected to the same network with a static IP
  • there was no firmware update since the issue started happening (or at least I’m not aware)

Right now I’m dealing with it by just copy/pasting the password from a text file on my desktop, since I’m not inclined to go through a factory reset (it’s not that annoying yet  ). But if was identified to be a systemic issue, a fix would be nice.

I reluctantly did the factory reset, didnt do anything except give me a new password to memorize, ggrrrr.

Mine have been doing that for a while, but only occasionally. I just put the passwords on Windows Sticky Note. 2 x P1P, 1 x P1S

My X1C started doing this about 2 months ago… now every time I have to enter the password. I’ve never had to enter this after the initial setup. BambuLab changed something and it would be nice if they would fix this.
