Having Problems with adhesion to the build plate. (Textured Bambulab)

Thanks to everyone that responded. I appreciate the information. I am currently rolling back the version to 01.07.02.00. I will let you know if that has fixed the problem.

You are right. Nothing to lose. Although i am installing a previous version that worked fine I have also ordered the plate that you suggested. Thanks!

I fine a scuff with very fine steel wool can sometimes restore a textured PEI plate with adhesion issues. Might be worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try it!

I am using Bambulab PLA. …

That’s the thing, I never have issue with PLA though but I started having warp on ABS when it did not occur very oftern previously. Although I often wash my plates with dishwasher soap and warm/hot water, I decided to use IPA to see if it worked after wash. It did not but my paper towel was dark… I found out that not only I should use soap but need to use a scrub sponge as well not a regular sponge and scrub well to remove all residue from the plates.

I discussed this adhesion problem with my wife and also took the advice of BattCave. She said she used Dawn Platinum Powerwash free & Clear to get the really tough stuff off of pans and stuff.

I washed the plate twice giving it a good scrubbing. I have made three prints today and it appears to work really good.

I also upped the plate temp by 5 degrees.

thanks for all the help!

Don’t forget the IPA wipe after your soap and water wash, it really makes the difference…

i got some 91% IPA so I can do that … thanks!

For what it’s worth, Bambu specifically says not to use IPA.

I followed the soap and water steps in my test and I couldn’t get the bed (with their stock black PEI plate) to hold the part for the full 220mm high print until I wiped with IPA.
Look at the videos…

So BL is just plain wrong and giving bad advice.
I’d love to see someone else run my PETG test… and share the results.

Maybe it only works with the Bambu Lab brand soap.

I’ll admit that I don’t have much experience printing with PETG. I’ve consistently found that using soap and water on the build plate works best for me when printing with ABS/ASA/PLA. As with many things, do what best works for your situation.

Yeah, I almost exclusively print with PETG.
I haven’t washed my gold plate with soap and water except for that test.
I was surprised that it failed until I hit it with some IPA.
I was very shocked that I had a successful 220mm high print 3 times in a row with just the IPA.
