Heat Creep clogging with PLA

Hello all,

I’m having some problems with a clogged extruder on my new P1P, see the photo below. It’s the second this has happenend. I presume its due to Heat Creep from the hot end. This is a P1P in an (Lack-type) enclosure, PLA printed at 250deg / bed at 70deg, printing with the enclosure doors wide open!

As I am already printing with the doors open, can I do anything to prevent this from happening? Is this normal behavior for this printer?
Other than this I am thoroughly enjoying the issue-free experience with the machine so far.

250 seems pretty hot for PLA. Have you tried printing a temp tower to see what the optimal temperature is?

I agree. 250 and 70 are both hot for PLA.

The flimsy fan for the heatbreak just won’t cut it…
Either print at lower temps or get a better hotend
