I think it is enough to dry the outgoing filament not the whole spool.
There are videos that also shows that.

That‘s what I thought, when I first saw the pictures. Question is if this can be done fast enough for fast printing?

My guess is the unit will have a simple switched vent. Those one-way membranes are very expensive. My guess suggests while its heating, a simple vent is open, and when the heating is done it will seal up an opening with a simple servo (think something like a RC car steering servo).

They said it uses an electro magnet, so basically just apply power for it to seal. Very low amount of power needed.
