Height Range Modifiers.. lost slicing information when swapping parts

Hi all…

I hope there is someone out there who can help me on this one as it is a big problem for me…

I am 4 months into Bambu Studio but have 4 years of experience with Simplify 3d

I print a lot of fairly technical parts and use multiple processes/height range modifiers all the time

My problem is when i import another iteration of a part… for example with a modified size or feature i lose all the slicing information that is in the height range modifiers and sometimes i have 8-10 of these… honestly, it is driving me insane… as i am spending hours of re-inputting and i am making mistakes…

Is there a way of retaining this slicing information? when you change the parts? am i missing something here? or is there a workaround?

I basically want to retain a sliced program with height range modifiers and just swap the parts and re-print

Any help on this one would be much appreciated…

Will

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but it has helped my during design iteration to retain settings.

When I design a part in CAD I export it as a STEP file and load it into Bambu. I then set up Bambu Studio with all the processes etc.

Normally the first design will require modifications. The trick here is export the STEP file from CAD with the same name and location. In Bambu Studio if you right click on the part you can select “Reload from disk” and boom, your modified part with the same everything setup from the old part.

This might also work with the “Replace STL” option but I haven’t tried it.
