They only send your gcode (which contains a lot of your “identity” as comments inside, but nothing critical here), and they receive back the same gcode with extra stuff they parse.
That could cause issues with clients who have you sign an NDA, G Code can easily be recompiled into a model and then you might be in violation of your NDA.
I’m more concerned about the slippery slope this creates. More and more microtransactions. Blaster I fully agree this is more snake oil than anything. I’m also wondering how Helios got such a foothold in the industry when they’ve really shown no actual results anywhere. If you want to save time I think buying a high flow nozzle is a much better investment

You’ve acknowledged manipulating the software—that responsibility is yours. Before making accusations, stick to verifiable facts. I will not continue any discussion that promotes or normalizes software manipulation.
This is from the patch github
" Known problems: the integrity check will fail when using cloud functionality (like printing)"
So I checked the facts from the source. Perhaps you should here is the link
Discussing software manipulation isn’t appropriate here. If you altered the software, that’s your responsibility—and it can invalidate support or usage, as with many products. Stop presenting it as a “correct” fix. Remove the modification and use the product as designed. I won’t engage further on methods that encourage tampering.
I don’t understand the outrage at patching BambuStudio.dll, it’s open source, he could have simply recompiled it and supplied the entire dll instead of a patch.
In your script I think I would have check summed the file first to make sure you are patching the right version.
It’s very much reminds me of Microsoft when when they embedded internet explorer into Windows98, then said it was part of the operating system and could not be removed. Then a guy from Australia created windows 98lite [patch which completely removed internet explorer and allowed windows to run faster and with less crashes.
This is what this exactly feels like. If it’s integrated into the and won’t allow a piece of software to pass a CRC check then it’s not deactivated. It’s simply not showing a button. I wonder if he’s a Bambu Lab employee because his response truly sounds corporate.
Eried Thank you for your research. I support it… If it keeps our machines a little more open then more power to you.
