HELP: Can't connect to P1S today with Bambu Studio

This is really weird. I have been using my P1S almost continously for 3 months. It has been connecting fine to Bambu Studio, but as of an hour ago, Studio does not find any printers.

  • I am logged in in Bambu Studio, printer is completely gone. Not using LAN only mode.
  • Restarted the printer
  • Bambu Handy finds the printer immediately, no problem
  • OrcaSlicer took about a minute but found the printer (I shutdown Bambu Studio first, I do not try to use them both at the same time)
  • Shut down Orca Slicer, tried Bambu Studio again but still no luck.
  • Ping from my Mac Studio to the printer works fine, about 12ms latency

Not using any beta firmware or software.

What the heck?

Completely removed Bambu Studio and the ~/Library/Application Support/BambuStudio folder. Reinstalled and it’s working again.

bet you coulda just waited it out, mine did same thing but ended up working on its own. support said they were aware.

Well, I have to confess one thing. I had tried copying the new SUNLU profiles from Github. I only copied the SUNLU folder and modified BBL.json to add the new ones - not sure how that could have messed me up, I was pretty careful. No syntax errors, nothing to do with the printer connection. Bambu Studio was also crashing on exit.

What happens when you uninstall and reinstall Bambu Studio?

After I uninstalled completely, and removed the application data, I was able to get in again.

Feb 16, updated firmware on P1S, now it won’t connect. Can see it in the router “connected devices” list but not in Handy or Studio. Tried forget the network, disable 5G, and reconnect. Get “FlutterBluePlusException: writeCharacteristic: (code 6) when I try to reconnect. Tried deleting and reloading Handy. No joy. Can’t submit ticket because it wants printer logs and the printer isn’t connected. Help!!!

You SHOULD be able to get them off the SD card.

AI quote:

P1S log files can be retrieved directly from the printer’s SD card (under

/log, /logger, or /recorder folders)

All of the helpful Bambu how to wiki links I tried came up 404, page not found

Try here, down under option 2

hope it helps

Thanks. Was using the handy app on the iphone to report the problem and it insists on connecting to the printer to retrieve logs but since I can’t get the printer to connect, it won’t let me submit a ticket. Catch 22. I’ll try another way to submit a ticket.
