New to the software, But I have been playing with Gridfinity, I’ve made a base, but I cannot figure out how to cut it so that I can print. I am trying to seperate where I have the yellow high light, but not having much luck. Could someone explain, or lead me to a video that might help out. I’ve tried youtube, but obvisouly I am missing somthing.
First Off Apreciate the help, I have played with Gridfinity Generator, but I have also used Gridifinity Rebuilt, The rebuilt is the one I’m using at the moment, Is one more simplified than the other.?
I was trying this but it seems to slit the base plate into a upper and a lower. When I clicked on perform cut, it seems to dublicate the base plate, this is where I’m getting a little confused on how to cut
Sounds like you need to rotate your cut plane. The video posted above walls you thought each step. If you uploaded your .3mf file it will be easier to show you.
Both have advantages, depending on what you need. For baseplates, I use https://gridfinitygenerator.com most often because I like the connectors to join multiple grids. Since none of my drawers are sized in exact multiples of 42mm, I also like being able to create custom sizes without cutting the grid in the slicer.
For bins, I use Easy to Use Gridfinity Parametric Bins in Fusion as a template. By adjusting parameters and timeline features, I can quickly create custom bins. Drawing a sketch on the bin floor, then extruding, makes quick custom tool supports. I do see a similar function in Gridfinity Generator for custom inserts that I think is a recent addition; I’ll have to play with that sometime.
