Stumbled on another one… Printed Solid’s “Jessie” filaments (PLA, PETG, and PLA silk, called “Elixir”) are also made in the US (Delaware).
PLA and PETG - $19.99/kg
“Elixir” PLA - $24.99
Don’t see any discount mentioned for buying multiple spools, but shipping is free for orders over $50.
Also, as they are apparently owned by Prusa, they have a section for US-made Prusament. I’ve never tried Prusament, but the price is way higher so I probably never will… $26.99 for a 1kg refill.
I really wish these companies would offer sample packs, or 200g spools so we could try colors and print quality without having to buy a full spool. I mean, what if I buy their red and I hate the way it looks?! Very aggravating!
I know Zyltech offers some options for samples of their rainbow/gradient silks, and very short 5m samples of their PLAs. Some of the others offer to sell you printed color swatches so you can see the colors, but you’re still stuck buying a roll to see how it prints. Frustrating.
Just FYI, 3dxtech does have some filament for less than $36/kg. They’ve got Economy PLA, Economy Glitter PLA, and Economy Satin PLA. They are only 750g spools but regular price is $17.99 which works out to about $24/kg, so not too bad. At the time I write this its on sale for $13.99.
Not a huge range of colors, but they do have a pale beige which is what I have been trying to find.
Voxel Pla isnt us made. Googles ai summary says it is, and maybe they used to be. But it states it exactly nowhere on their website. So I doubt that’s the case anymore. Thanks for the list though!
I found another one. GreenGate3D 100% recycled filament made in Colorado. They do have bundles which have a discount. Mostly PETG but if you go into one of the colors, they also have some PLA. 31.99 regular price for PETG. I bought 2 rolls at the Rocky Mountain Rep Rap Festival this weekend, and I will update later on how well it prints. (I have to dry it first.)
Well they were being intentionally misleading. They “assemble” the filament here. Being as that statement is intentionally vague I’m going to assume they only spool it here.
But no the filament is made in china. Which is fine, but they have a ton of people mislead to believe otherwise, which is not fine.
Some of the wording may be weird if a company imports the raw beads from china but turn it into filament in the U.S… Alot of things “made in america” use raw materials from elsewhere.
Just an FYI for anyone not signed up for their emails… COEX3d is having a “summer sale” on their PLA. Currently marked down to $20/1kg spool (normally $24). The email doesn’t state when the sale ends.
