Help removing H2C Dual Extruder Filament Guide

I have a filament jam in the right extruder of my H2C. I am trying to remove the H2C Dual Extruder Filament Guide in order to get to the jam, but it doesn’t want to come off. I have removed the three screws, I have placed the jig that holds the cutters in the proper position. It starts to come out but it feels like there is something holding it at the upper right.

Any ideas or guidance on how to proceed?

Try taking the cutters completely out. They are not bad to remove or replace, just watch how the little springs fit in.

Done this so many times on my H2D that I can almost do it in my sleep :grin:

I tried the plug, same problem. The little pin in the plug has broken off into it, so I have been holding it up by hand.

I’ve seen the videos, and I have done this in the past. If you watch the video I posted, it seems to be stuck on something.

Is there something different on the H2C?

Could you have filament stuck in there? You mentioned a jam, is it possible there is a piece of filament going from the extruder into the guide?

I think there is definitely a piece of filament stuck in there. I was trying to open this up in order to get it out.

If you haven’t done this yet: Put it somewhat back together. Swap to that side. Remove the nozzle. Manually extrude and see if the filament will go down through everything. Push a little on the filament if you have to.

If right cutter is stuck it can be the problem.
I would dismantle the right cutter so you know that side is free.
I would also swith to the right nozzle and pull the filament out, while still filament there it might lock the dual filament guide.

Did you get this resolved? I also have a filament jam on the the right nozzle of my H2C and can’t get the guide off or the filament unjammed.

I have not yet gotten it resolved. I got pulled away to another task.

I think my next step is removal of the right cutter to see if that helps.

Issue resolved.

Once I removed the right cutter I was able to remove the dual extruder guide. I powered up the unit and swapped to the other hot end. I could then reach the stuck filament and pull it out.

I have reassembled the printer, and everything is now working.

The underlying cause of the jam was a filament mismatch. I throught I had loaded third party ASA (no RFID). It was actually PLA+ (also no RFID). Running PLA with ASA settings is not a good idea.
