I can not get the Auto-refill to work with my 2 AMS 2 Pro with the H2D. I am racking my brain to figure out if there is a setting I forgot to click. Here are some screenshots of the setup:
Did you have both filaments in the AMS before sending a print to the printer? Currently, it only works if the backup spool is in the AMS2 before the print starts.
Both rolls were already in the printer for the screen shots I sent. The machine was idling and those were screenshots from the AMS setup in the Bambu app.
Aren’t these Bambu Lab filaments? It looks like the AMS system only knows that it’s PETG, but not the color. Press the eye in the respective slot and set the filament color.
They are both Bambu PETG Clear. Man I really didn’t do a great job with info on this - sorry for confusion.
I tried a cold restart this morning, and when through and cycles the AMS units. The bug is still there. I’ll try with other filaments in a couple hours once the current prints are done.
I’m glad I came across this thread - experiencing same issue with exact same Bambu filament (PETG translucent, clear). I don’t have two other identical Bambu filaments to compare whether this issue is just for the translucent filaments or not. Auto refill doesn’t recognise that there’s another spool available in the same colour, and I had to manually reload my second spool into the first spool’s position when the first one ran out.
It does let me change the details…
However once the details are changed (both translucent PTEG clear for Bambu) it still does not use the auto switch between rolls.
The defect is still there. I’ll check each beta and see when it’s resolved. I like clear PTEG for the frosted look.
a question out of interest. does filament backup work between two AMS?
Example:
PETG Black in AMS one (left nozzle) and PETG Black in AMS two (right nozzle).
A print that could be printed with either the left or right nozzles since it does not reach the left / right zone. Would the printer switch to the right nozzle if the PETG in AMS one (left nozzle) runs out?
You also need to have two rolls in AMS A or two rolls in AMS B so it can switch automatically when one runs out on that nozzle or you using multi AMS on one nozzle ?
Place two rolls of PETG with same specs in AMS A, slots 1 and 2. Start a print, then cut the filament in slot 1—once the filament sensor in the extruder detects it’s out, it should automatically switch to the PETG roll in slot 2.
I will look but im sure ive read that it doesnt show which slots each filament are in , just type and colour, which if true could cause a conflict with slot 4
unless thats just synching (mapping ?) and different ams versions ,
This ?
I was having you load the filaments into the AMS A in slots 1 through 4, from left to right, so we could just test whether your backup filament option was working correctly.
I usually use custom but since you’re using Bambu Lab filament, it’s likely handling the selection automatically for you or not ?
Sorry I can’t guide you 100% I don’t use or have any Bambu filaments.
I dont use the refil option ( i tend to be a manual feeder ) slot 4 in @Hufflepuff image being a different type conflicting with the refil option was just a thought based on sync / mapping , as ive posted above
