Help Restarting Print at Specific Height

Hi there! I am wondering if there is a way to restart a print at a specific height for the Bambu A1 Mini.

I was printing something large that is essentially occupying most of the build plate, and it ran out of filament during the print at some point. When I came to load a new spool, I got stuck in this unloading loop where it kept telling me to pull out the filament out of the extruder and retry, and despite doing this it could not clear the error. Based on what I read from other people having this issue, I ended up pulling the plug, and afterwards I was able to load a new spool successfully. However, my print progress was lost. It seems like the best way people had for restarting a print was to modify the g-code and deleting the g-code prior to the layer that I ended on. This is the step that I’m now on: I have the g-code pulled up, and I would like to measure the height that my print is at using the nozzle, however, it won’t let me control the nozzle without first homing the head. I’m afraid that if I hit the home button then the head will run into the part in the process of trying to home itself. Do you guys have any advice on how I can get myself out of this situation? Thanks very much!

There is no way to do this without a lot of custom gcode editing. There is a good amount of risk of damaging your printer and the time involved in getting it right would be more than just reprinting the part.

Your other option is to reslice the part so that it only prints the missing top section and then glue the two parts together.

What you can do is remove what has been printed from the bed, cut your model in Bambu Studio, where the issue occurred, print the top half you cut off the model and then glue the two pieces together, I have done this a few times and this has worked with most of my attempts.
