Help with New but old X1c and account binding

Hi all, I just bought a brand new in box X1c (private sale) that has sat unused for almost two years since purchase. I am struggling to bind it and am getting this error shown in pic

The seller was genuine, it’s the same address on the box as the address I collected from and matches the invoice and it was opened in front of me for the first time. All packaging was untouched. The screen had never been connected etc it was all still wrapped . It prints from sd and internal memory but I cannot get ot to connect via either bambu studio or handy even though both see it as a nearby device.
It passes network checks but when I scan the barcode it just says failed.

Can anyone help? I have tried switching my router to only 2.4ghz,

Tried multiple full resets

Tried using my phones wifi

Tried connecting with an access code and it works to a point but wont let me update the firmware or do anything of much use at all.
Could this be bound to another users account by bambu lab on purchase?
It is on a very old version of firmware that doesn’t allow sd card update (

This is just a guess. Im woundering if you need to ask the person you bought it from to unbind the printer from that persons account before you can bind it. Its worth a shot if you can contact that person.

The wifi was extremely flakey until 1.7.3.1, I often had to retry up to ten times or more before I got a connection, even with an AP nearby. Once I got it to connect, it would often work for a long time. So perhaps keep trying to get an Internet connection and if/when that works, try to upgrade firmware using the touch screen.
