Hi Guys,
I am a new convert to an X-1 Carbon from the Prusa i3MK3S.
My X1 is printing great!
I am having trouble with supports. I’m printing with PETG using all default selections.
The Supports are so tightly stuck to the “PART” that it damages the part to get them off. No trouble with sticking to the plate, that’s just fine.
I have tried using the Support Style “Tree Slim” and that does very little. Is there anything else I can try to fix this.
Thanks for the help in advance.
Use PVA for support, or PLA support for PETG, or PETG for PLA…
thanks for the reply.
What is PVA ?
If I am using a separate filament for the supports, that has to more than double the print time…right?
There has to be a parameter to adjust this so the supports do not weld to the part…right?

Bump the Top Z Distance. Set it to layer height + 0.02, so for 0.20 height you’d use 0.22 distance.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try
Make sure you are only using the support filament (PLA for PETG and PETG for PLA) for the interface. You do not need to change the default for the remaining support column.
