Firstly English is not my 1st language so i am quite confused at the recent changes of the Print Profile requirement like what is ok and what is not.
I am a long time creator in Makerworld and my content are mostly exclusive to Makerworld so i do want to keep my items updated and in line with the new Rules about Print Profile so i don’t get into trouble of any sort
So what i am asking for clarification that is having Multiple print profile with different filament type considered illegal in Makerworld?
I am aware that the Bambu Handy can allow the user to print in like PETG despite my profile is PLA but as i customize my settings in Bambu Studio i do sometimes adjust the filament profile say fan or temp for plate or even flow before i bundle everything up and uploaded it as (Specific Filament) Print profile. As my listings are usually things that need to be precise and accurate when printing so these tiny settings changes is rather important than Bambu handy simply wiping off my settings and use a generic one if say the user choose a profile i have made in PLA version but he wants to print it in PETG filament.
I am aware of the new 1 count per download regardless if the user downloaded multiple filament profile, in which i do think its a great and fair move.
My intention is never on having multiple print profile of different filament to “farm” them but more to every profile is what i specially tuned for that filament type its intended for.
Thank you to whichever admin answering this. I will change and update all my listing as soon as i get a proper clear answer on this. Thank you.
IMO, one profile for a filament type is enough except that your model need special Process Parameters for a specific filament. For example, maybe your model need to add more brim when using ABS.
I understand that you may changed some filament parameters for specific filament, for example eSUN PETG. Your fine-tuned parameter is likely be better than using Generic PET, but it may be not suit for others who are using Kexcell PETG. Their flow ratio and max volumetric speed may be different. So, for users who pursue the optimal filament parameters (for filaments not built-in Bambu Studio), they need to use their own calibrated filament preset for specific filament brand, type and family.
The main purpose of print profile is to share Process Parameters (for each object) including:
quality (layer height, line width, seam, etc)
strength (walls, infill density, shells, etc)
support (support type, raft, support enforcer, support blocker, etc)
speed
colors settings
objects arrangement and orientations
others(object printing sequence, bed adhesion, etc)
But is it considered illegal to have multiples profile of a different filament? If yes then i will carry on with the changes. If no then i will prob leave it but next time when i create something i will keep this in mind.
Thank you.
Actually the difference is on filament type not filament brands.
Do you advise i make changes to all current items and profile or its cool to leave it and just be aware next time i make something?
If there a lot of this kind of print profiles, please help set private or remove the profiles that targets only for different material type (no process settings changes).
