High noise level

Hello, I have been using a Carbon X1 for 10 days, in general I am satisfied with the results, but…

During the day the noise level could be said “to be acceptable”, even if it is next to the work table.

But I have to give up using it at night, the noise of the fans is loud and disturbs the family when they sleep.

I would like to know if you have detailed information about the fans, I am very seriously considering replacing them.

Hi, You can turn off the fans, I don’t know if it’s recommended but it’s possible.

I won’t turn off all the fans—that would lead to clogs at best, or worse problems.

I discovered that, for me, the loudest noise was coming from the chamber fan. So, I modified the printer’s start GCODE to lower the fan speed to about 50%.

I replaced this line:

M106 P3 S180

with this:

M106 P3 S120

This reduced the noise a bit, but didn’t eliminate it entirely.

In my experience, if you want to print fast, you’re going to have noise, no matter what you do.

I am also a new user. I had a Flash Forge Creator Max. The X1C is Waaaaaay quieter. I cannot hear it when I am not in the room where it is located. Mine is sitting on a solid wood desk that is buffered with a 3/4 inch piece of plywood that has a layer of felt to allow me to rotate the unit to access the rear of it.
