Hi, I thought the Hiking contest was supposed to start on the 14th April at 00:00 UTC, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Has there been a delay?

I’m pretty sure it’ll be live in about 18 hours, technically April 15 00:00 UTC. The Easter and music box contests say they end April 13 00:00 UTC, but they ended about 6 hours ago. A countdown timer would be nice, I’m always unsure about start and end date/time for contests.

That might be the case. It would be great if there were a countdown timer on the site — it would make the start time more clear for everyone.

I think they are opening and closing the contest manually. There were some delays in the past, which are hardly caused by a cronjob…

It’s up on the site now. They probably really manage the start time manually.

Just saw that, I officially have no idea when any of these start or end. Like you said, it must be manual.

Forget about timing about contest start, they are always manually started because sometimes they have trouble getting the banner image or other issues.

The provided date and time are always indicative.

Yeah, I usually don’t have models ready to publish for these contests at the start. This one just happened to be a theme for something I’m pretty active in and so I had 2 models ready for the start of it. Like woodbear, I kept looking to see if it had started. And now i won’t forget that it’s more of a suggested start time!
