I’ve read that HIPS should be suitable support material for ABS so I ordered a spool. Problem now is, that the display of the printer doesn’t allow me to select HIPS as a material and Bambu Studio won’t allow me to select an AMS slot if the material set in Bambu Studio doesn’t line up with the one set on the AMS.
Is there a reason why HIPS can’t be selected as material on the printer?
Hah. I had the same problem. It was “cockpit error” on my part, but alas I do not recall what it was I was doing wrong. But I can assure you it can be selected (generic), just poke around some more like I did and you’ll figure it out (or maybe someone else can reply with a more useful comment 
).
Note: might have been the build plate I had selected. “Cool Plate” and HIPS do not match up.
Hah, indeed. I can select HIPS in the Device tab in BambuStudio and sync it from there to the printer, but it’s not possible to select HIPS directly on the printer. Looks like an omission in the printers firmware to me.
