The cutter works fine, I can load and unload filament, but as soon as I try to print or run any self-tests or calibration, this error prevents the print job from starting.
So far I’ve replaced the entire filament sensor, then the toolhead interface board, but no luck. The ribbon cable to the main extruder board looks ok on the interface side, but I’ve yet to open up the back to check the other side, especially since I can’t find where to buy the main board
Does it move when it should ???
Just asking as I recently had the filament stuck inside the EXTRUDER, not the hotend.
With the printer and me trying hard to unload the stuck filament the hotend was happily sitting at 250 degrees Celsius with glow filament inside
Of course the cutter kept trying, got stuck a few times and in the end I had to take the whole apart to free the filament…
Ever tried to cut filament inside the extruder in order to get the gear and drive wheel out ?
Once finally done I still got nowhere as the cutter still kept telling me it is malfunctioning.
A bit of the overcooked PLA came back with the blade and lodged itself into the slot.
The cutter would either not move all the way or get suck on the way out.
Once removed and cleaned I ran a thin pieve of fabric with silicone oil through and then another dry one to remove all excess.
Not sue if it helps me to prevent this in the future but at least I know here to look if all else fails.
So it’s likely the ribbon cable to and or the main extruderboard. as i mentioned, i can do filament swaps and the cutter and extruder both work fine, but once i begin a print, i get the error and can’t get passed it. no clogs, nothing blocking anything, magnets and sensor arm all good
support got me a link for the full hot end board and cable set, so we’ll see if that does it.
For those looking how to fix this issue, you must buy an entirely new sensor. I bought two just in case it happens again. If you got to Bambu Lab store or Bambu Lab US store you can search up extruder filament sensor- printer series the first image should be the thing you must buy to fix this problem.
What X1 are you using? This just happened to my X1E, I was changing the complete hotend and powered on and everything was great. I heated up the hotend using the HDMI screen to 200 and once I clicked ok it jumped to 266 as the current temp but never actually heated up. Now I’m having the same exact issues you have. What fixed your issue?
