THIS! turn the printer on its side, the belts are right there and just need a very light coat of oil. Saved me so much headache as I was about to tear it apart and try to find new bearings. Can’t believe it was such a simple fix.
It is interesting to note that the X1E lacks the locking screw on the tensioner and the belt runs centrally in the pulley. So, removing the screw may be a longer term fix, better than adding lubrication, but I’m not sure if the X1E tensioner spring is stronger than that on the X1C.
good to know, I just noticed the screw wasn’t there on my X1E , assumed it had been forgotten during production and was about to add one myself
