Hot end flow limitations

I’ve was having issues with Extrudr ASA and my X1 Carbon with a 0.6mm nozzle about a month ago. Basically I had to slow down the speeds in the generic print profiles for PETG and ASA for these non Bambu filaments to get them to get close to where I wanted them. I wondered about the hot end, but thought it couldn’t be that simple.

Then I saw this yesterday

All rather interesting, as I went through the SoftFever flow calibration routines, and it just didn’t get any better, so if you’re listening BambuLabs you might want to take these observations onboard, and offer an upgrade

CNC Kitchen just sold a ■■■■ ton of those hot ends and nozzles for them.

there was another thread on this forum where someone had experimented with the clone Bondtech nozzles and the cloned removable Bambu style hotend which used “standard” nozzles. It’s been going a few months aka since they first came out, but I was put off by the extra length and the “firmware” errors, so I didn’t really follow it. Then other YT folks got on the act, but at least Stefan quantified it with his testing, and it convinced me to order some AlieExpress parts even if they are more expensive than stock, and not particularly good value.

Amazon has everything but the different nozzle sizes. I was waffling, but pulled the trigger today. Now just need to find hiflo nozzle.

yes @Sticks I saw the Amazon links and these are cheaper than AliExpress with UK taxes, but I haven’t seen a hardened Bambu compatible nozzle with the copper insert yet.

It will show up. Just have to be patient.
