Is the OEM cooling fan on the X1 a dual ball bearing? It doesn’t say so on it. If not, is there a dual BB fan that would work?
What do we know about the hotend fan? Voltage, speed, flow? I want more quitet ones. I guess we can’t control it (such as running it at 70%)?
I asked earlier if this was a dual ball bearing fan and anything about it and got crickets. I’d too want to replace it with a better, quieter fan.
Cooling Fan for Hotend - X1 Series | Bambu Lab EU gave me the last clues.
So it is DD2510B05H-P 5V, 0.20A, 1W, 25x10 mm, 4-wire, ball bearing, 15500 rpm, 2.96 CFM / 5 m³/h.
BTW just for reference the toolhead cover part cooling fan is a DB5015B24M-P 24V, 0.15A, 3.6W, 50x15 blower, 4-wire PWM
Noctua doesn’t have anything like them. I have sourced really quiet fans from other brands before but can’t recall their name.
Hope to get some answers since I can’t start a new post:
My X1C is stop printing when the parts fan is on 100% and the Hotend is printing ABS or similar.
When I disable the cooling function the print is going through but the quality is bad.
Any ideas what the problem, could be, please?
This sounds bizarre for sure! I’d think somewhere you could have a blown fuse or connection that’s frayed.
The toolhead front cover which contains the logo LED & Part cooling fan are both powered by the single cable (LOGO LED) which runs into the rear side toolhead board.
I had issues with my part cooling fan and noticed from the cover being torn off aggressively overtime from prints & myself removing it for maintenance the wear & tear frayed a single strand of that cable which produced some of those issues like part fan only working sometimes at certain percentages until it completely stopped 1 day.
I noticed they put a yellowish silicone glue that was much stiffer than what they give you when ordering a new Logo Cable which the OEM glue makes it bend at the worst spot. The new silicone glue it comes with is pure white and squishy and allows the cable to bend freely with the cover.
Something to definitely try and check out
Hi Proto Spyre!
My Logo LED cable has cracked, so the fan on the cover has no function anymore. Please could you tell me whre I can find how to replace the cable?
Greetings Alex
Hey @Alex_Rain ! Sorry for the delayed response. Here is the [Link] to the direct replacement cable for the [Logo LED]
This is unfortunately the acting [Power] cable as well for the [Toolhead Part Fan] so if you ever notice the LED isn’t responsive make sure to test your part fan as well, sometimes the server could be down and that would not illuminate the logo as well.
May I ask if the [cracked] logo cable you have now has a yellowish adhesive by the connector that mates into the toolhead? I ask this because it’s much more 'stiff ’ than what you’ll receive with the new cable which will be a small tube and it’ll be white which also dries soft more like a silicone than the stock OEM glue.
Ensure you read the installation directions as well since this will be a 10-20 min job but take your time due to the cable being fragile.
Best of luck and if you need anything else I don’t mind lending a helping hand
