Hotend+nozzle P1P

Hello everyone,
since I should buy a new hotend block, I wanted to understand if the only differences between the Stainless and Hardened are only in the Hotend+nozzle block or do the fans also change.

Just to understand if it’s enough to get just the single block without or with fan, because the price varies, as I have the fan and it works. I think the fan is the same in both cases but I would like to have a confirmation from someone who has both. :v:t3:

You reuse your fan, heating pad and thermistor.

There are two options:

  • nozzle only
  • hot-end assembly that includes nozzle, heater, temp probe, fan, everything that is part of that unplug-able unit that you remove from the printer. Given the price of the nozzle being half of the price of the assembly, getting the entire assembly is worth it. You do not have to fuss with trying to get all the little pieces in just the correct place and messing with heat conductive grease.

The hardened nozzle is the upgrade and that is what the X1 ships with. I imagine that BBL gets the stainless a little cheaper which saves them money when shipping tens of thousands of printers. However, the cost difference is probably too small to bother selling both as replacements. If a nozzle was $14.85 and a hardened nozzle was $14.95 which would you buy?

Compare this procedure Replacing the complete hotend assembly / Nozzle Replacement Guide | Bambu Lab Wiki
to this one Replacing the hotend/ceramic heater/thermistor/cooling fan | Bambu Lab Wiki and you will see the difference in both the amount of work needed and which parts are part of the assembly other than the nozzle.
The second link starts with a photo of the nozzle and a photo of the hot-end assembly that might just answer all your questions.
