I know several have addressed this or a similar topic in the past but I can’t find anyone’s actual solutions for the issue. I have an X1E that gets daily use in my Library’s Makerspace. I had a piece of filament get stuck and followed all of the steps to clear out the piece - was stuck in the extruder. Upon putting the machine back together, the hotend now reads at a constant temperature of 255 degrees. I’ve replaced the hotend and the extruder connection board thinking I may have damaged a connection when plugging everything back in. This didn’t solve the problem. I’ve factory reset the machine and done all the updates to the machine’s firmware.
My next thought is to replace the TH board but I wanted to see if anyone had found an actual reason the machines are doing this before I replace the entire thing piece by piece. Can anyone offer any solutions that have worked for them?
Since I’ve never found a definitive answer to this issue and I’ve now successfully fixed mine, the solution to this issue is replacing the TH Board. It’s a pain to do but well worth it. The biggest issue you will find is finding someone who actually has the item in stock. I’ve ordered parts from 3D Universe with very quick delivery time (2 days) and I ordered from Congeriem and got the item but delivery time was crazy. Ordered on 5/21 (item listed as in stock) and received item on 6/12.
