HOTEND without mounting holes

I received a P1P in October, 2023 and needed to switch out the original hotend the other day for the spare supplied with the printer.

I removed the original hotend and opened the box with the spare Hotend and was surprised to see a Hotend WITH NO MOUNTING HOLES!

I opened up a Support Ticket on 2/15/24 and received this reply from Bambu Labs on 2/19/24:
Hi Robert,

Apologize for any inconvenience caused!
I have submitted a replacement request for you just now^^ And a new Spare Hotend will be sent to you soon. Please kindly have a wait.
Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Best Regards,
Sandy

I am pleased with the way Bambu Labs handled this issue especially considering this transpired in the middle of the Chinese New Year.

Glad you included the picture, I was having a hard time believing it LOL. Your old nozzle looks like what I just did to one of mine earlier in the week and bent it, but thankfully my spare wasn’t missing the mounting holes. Would be a pain to try to put new holes in the spare without a drill press, but might be fun to try.

I checked the hole size with a digital caliper and it measures 3.2mm. I placed a 1/8" drill bit in the hole and it slides freely through the hole. The 1/8" bit is probably a sufficient size so I plan on using the damaged Hotend as a template on the holeless Hotend and secure them in a drill press vice and use my drill press to drill the holes. I’m assuming the slight hole diameter discrepancy won’t impact the alignment of the Hotend in the print head.
