Hi, Please help.
Add a bigger brim.
I usually run a brim size of 5, but last week had the same issue as you…I increased the brim to 15 in order for all the support to be connected. Worked out fine.
OK, I am not sure what to do next. I really want to print on the diagonal which is what I am trying to do. It seems the printhead knocks things over as per the attached picture. Even with a raft and brim, the portion broke at the base facing the camera.
What might I try next short of printing vertically?
Remove the raft, use just the brim. If your using a raft, the brim is only holding the raft down…not the part.
Also, in the 1st pic…it shows support under the part, I take it it’s not flat…??
Greetings,
Would you have any ideas about what happened in this picture? As can be seen, the A1-Mini had just transitioned from orange to red and printed a couple of millimeters of red before having some kind of hiccup that caused it to poop out red AND orange dribbles. Could this be a case of the red jamming and the printer trying to clear it? I am a little befuddled (as befitting a 64-year-old;) and I am hesitant to move on before having a course of action othr than “I wonder what this will do?”
It looks like the model is painted. When you slice it, you have a choice of red or orange as supports. If you don’t choose, the default is the 1st color printed.
You will find this setting under Support.
But…they way that model is…with support in the middle, I don’t think you’ll be able to fix it with the setting I posted above.
Actually, there was nothing at all wrong with the model. The A-1 mini, shortly after changing from an orange layer to a red layer, started popping out gobs of red and orange and stopped printing about 2mm into the red color.
I will check on clearing the print head, as I might have used some old filament.
I just needed to clear the clogged print head. This is the first time I have experienced a clog on the A1-Mini and I was not certain of the procedure. I was able to heat the print head and coax the excess filament out.
Thank you for the help on the previous issue, as well!
I lost the raft and kept the brim and everything has been great. Thank you for the advice.
