How can this print?

The photo shows a dry erase holder that I printed in my X1C using Bambu PLA with standard settings. The side with all the magnet pockets was on the print plate. The bigger pockets are 2" by 1.5" by 1.5" deep. How can this print with no supports? The first version I printed didn’t have the bosses for the magnets, yet it is supported only by the edges and it printed the 1.5 mm gap with nonproblem.

I am amazed by the size of the gaps that were printed on air. I am relativel new to 3D printing. I bought a QIDI several years ago, but I didn’t want a hobby of fiddling with printers. I bought the X1C after my son told me how happy he was with his PS1. So far, I’ve just been printing, no fiddling except when I got in trouble trying to use the dissolvable PVA filament in my AMS.

I would like to have two print heads. That was a nice feature of my QIDI. I would be happy with a single spool holder for the second head.

Cool, it is really amazing how well bridging works :slightly_smiling_face: I would never have tried it in this orientation without supports. Apparently not rightfully so.

You could also print it standing on the bottom side, so the pockets for the magnets are on the side and the bigger pockets open at the top.
