How do I change my user name on the forum?

Currently, my user name in MakerWorld differs from the one on the forum. Same login for both. How do I change the forum user name?

It’s my understanding that only an Admin can change a user name after the “username change period” has expired.

You can change your forum username within 3 days after registering an account. I was facing the same problem. I deleted the forum user account and registered again. I haven’t had much activity here yet.

Yes, that is the case. The default setting in Discourse (the software this forum uses) is 3 days.

Right you are. :slight_smile: I picked the forum user name before Maker World was created.

No big deal…

There might be a bit of a work around. In “Preferences” there is a “Name” field that shows up under your user name when someone clicks on it.

Or just message a mod here. They can change your name.

I assume you mean create a topic rather than create a whole forum, that would be a question of software development.

You need to use the forum for a bit first to get to the first trust level, you’re new here so it takes a few things.

Get to trust level 1 by…

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts
