Yup, one does wonder that.

X1Plus which is the 3rd party firmware has added features that allow you to select more option of what these buttons can do.

While we are complaining about poorly implemented buttons…

The other top button is marked with the symbol that is the standard for an EMERGENCY STOP. As such, it should immediately cancel or at least pause all current operations. Instead, it asks for verification, which has to be provided on the screen, or app, or in Studio. If I’m dealing with an emergency, my attention should be on the problem, not searching elsewhere so I can repeat my command.

Old topic, but I wanted to mention that the X1Plus firmware permits some changes in button usage.

The firmware distinguishes between short and long button presses, providing four functions from the two buttons. So now we can finally choose a true emergency stop, using our choice of a long or short button press.
