Yep, kind of a trashy UI design huh. Thank the “modern” trend of minimal interface design.

It would be horrible if they actually used the massive amount of empty space to the right side of the File menu and made it work like a traditional application menu bar.

Four more words displayed on the screen? That might* confuse people!

*(So instead of designing it like that, they used a design that almost always confuses people.)

Hmm, I’ll try using the ctrl + p shortcut but I am on Mac so I can’t see the file button

click on bambu studio > settings

I know this is an older thread, however, I am running Bambu Studio 2.4.0.70 on a Windows computer and when I select the Preferences option or Ctrl P nothing opens, but the entire desktop gets locked and I cannot access anything unless I press ESC. The other three options, Edit, View and Help all open to a sub-menu. Thanks for your help!

Welcome to the forum.

Sounds like your Preferences file or the path to it is corrupt. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Thanks for your quick response. I’m new to this, and I was afraid if I did a re-install that I would lose my models. Will they be spared if I do the re-install?

Your models are normally saved as a separate .3mf file in the location that you choose. They shouldn’t be lost by reinstalling Bambu Studio.

But of a silly question, you have tried rebooting your computer already correct?

Yes, I did reboot with no improvement. Thank you very much for the response! I will reinstall and see how that goes.

same thing just happened to me. I just deleted all the .conf files in %appdata%\BambuStudioand when I restarted the program, it was just like a fresh install; I had to pick the machines I have but that seemed to work. It did delete my custom filaments, though which is a bit of a pain…
