I got my Cyberbrick kit yesterday and I hurried to make my first models. I’ve got the truck and the remote assembled, but I can’t figure out how to make them do anything. I can’t find instructions online anywhere for how to pair the transmitter and receiver (I used the iOS app to connect my phone to both units, but they don’t seem to communicate with one another.)
Can you point me in the right direction? Right now I am really frustrated and disappointed with this system.
In the Makerworld Project for that kit, there are links to a number of docs, including assembly and getting started. (That may be in the github repository, I don’t remember or have access right now)
I believe the @CyberBrick team will be creating a video guide this week. In the meantime, you can follow the screenshots I shared below. Note that this is from an Android app user standpoint as I don’t have access to an iPhone to get screenshots from.
Pro tip: Turn on one CB core first and connect it to the app before turning the other core on, to avoid confusion.

I have mine mostly working, lights and steering work, but the motor runs continuously and doesn’t change based on the joystick. How can I troubleshoot? I connected a serial monitor to the controller, but I don’t see any useful information.
As @chiz_m points out, it may be poor connections, however, in this case it may be poor connection in the remote, not the truck/forklift. Probably the throttle joystick connector.
I built the truck. It did end up being a bad connector wire between the joystick and the controller board in the remote. I replaced the cable and it’s all working proper now, fun stuff. I still didn’t find a good way to troubleshoot though, another day perhaps. Thanks for the replies.
Hello, yesterday everything worked fine but I can’t connect anymore. The board has a green led. Both my android phone and windows computer are recognizing the bluetooth device. When I try to connect it turn blue and after a few second back green. The android apps tells connection failed please contact support.
Hi guys i tried to create a new standalone post but idk why it doesn’t let me publish it. I’ll post it here sorry in advance:
I received the CyberBrick base kit yestarday and started building the remote controller, followed all the intructions perfectly. As soon as i tried to turn it on the white led on the receiver shield turns on and the fades off not powering the remote. I tried all the core to exclude some problem witht the board itself, same thing with the shield, tried both but nothing. The Cores and the Shields work perfectly beacouse i tried powering them via usb c and they work perctly. What should i do?
I’m not sure I will be able to be much help but could you try it with the rechargeable battery to see if you get a different result? I guess I was just thinking this could troubleshoot if there is an issue with the a battery pack.
I am having the same issue. The left joystick seems dead in both of the controllers. When using the right controller, i can steer left and right, but the left doesn’t do anything at all. I could understand if it was one of the controllers, but both?
Sounds like you have the wrong control software loaded. One version (Forklift_B_L-throttle_R-steer.json.json) uses two different joysticks and one uses only one (Forklift_A_L-joystick-only.json) with steering and speed on two different axis. I would expect your behavior if using the wrong one.
