How do I single step the toolhead in slicer preview?

After a lot of wrestling with my mouse, I was able to zero-in on the point of interest (a seam in this case):

but it was awkward as heck to do so. How do I single step the toolhead using the keyboard? I tried arrow keys. Nothing. I tried +/-. No go either. Can it be done at all? If so, how?

I think the slicer is a wonderful tool. In most respects it’s completely intuitive, so I’m probably missing something obvious.

I can move to different layers with up and down keyboard keys;
In each layer, the “steps” are with left and right keyboard keys.
Windows 11; Bambu Studio 1.8.4.51.

Same. But how to single step the printhead not up and down layers (which is jumping too far ahead) but instead along its actual toolpath? That’s controlled by the horizontal scrollbar, which is the region I want to single step within. I can do it with a mouse, but it’s iffy. If there is no other way, I’ll look into a much higher dpi mouse.

Found it. It’s the scroll-wheel on the mouse. You have to hover over the horizontal scroll bar and then use the scroll-wheel.

Well, good enough I suppose. I’d still prefer a keyboard method for this purpose, if there is one. If anyone here knows of one, please post.

I am moving the toolhead with the keyboard(right-left keys). Ensure we discuss the same thing, i.e. the horizontal bar below the print. I can also do it step by step with the mouse, as the scroll wheel has that sensitivity.

Time for me to eat crow. You’re right. I could have sworn the few times I tried before the left/right keys were doing nothing, but after your post I tried again, and they’re working. I’m humbled. Sorry for my mistake.

Glad that is working. No need for apologies; I was wondering what could be the cause.

In any case, thank you for correcting me! In the end, knowing the right answer is what matter most.
