How do we build build, traffic, dialogue and mutual support for the laser option

I fear that there are folks who bought or had their company or department buy the laser versions of the H2D or H2C and after unwrapping it might have given Suite a Try… and then sold their Laser Modules on ebay. I bought my H2C-L with the 10W, and after getting over the initial shock of Suite, bought my 40W Module on ebay new in the box for $550 inc shipping. seeing the Modules on ebay this way (when I bought mine there were 5 or 6 of the 40W with BIT now prices between $650 and $800 i made an offer to the guy who had his at $650 and after a bit of horse trading he accepted it, with regularity has me worried about the way Bambu is marketing and supporting the laser option.

The lack of YouTube content around the H2D and H2C with the laser and cutter option is also a major concern. When most of the influencers, who were given the laser versions, gave it at best the ‘power point overview’ and then failed to follow up with more videos using the laser and pointing out the flaws in Suite. I (due to this damning with faint praise) almost canceled my H2C-L10W as the multi-tool usage is key to me. I am very glad I did not, and other than Suite’s shortcomings, it fits my workflow, supplemented by my 4-year-old X1C,very well… Do I sometimes wish for a dedicated all bells and whistles large bed diode laser, yes, but I don’t have the space for one unless I sell my X1C.

The only fly in my beer is that I have to spend about 30 minutes cleaning laser residue every time I switch back to 2D printing. The instructions wiki could have really benefited from these photos, especially for the initial cleaning—it took almost an hour! I’m hoping to get it down to 15 minutes with some practice. But each time I think I’ve improved, I wonder if more time was dedicated to this step. Now, I mostly use the 40W laser for about 50 to 100 hours before switching back to printing, which might explain why the swap takes me so long. Plus, it is only 3 or 4 minutes to go from printer to laser which gives an edge to the comparison..

And that’s why a laser inside your 3D Printer is arguably a terrible idea. It’s a fundamentally problematic design choice. Laser use will unquestionably increase general support challenges, most of which will probably be related to degraded printing performance due to incomplete cleaning. And without completely disassembling the machine, it’s impossible to clean it completely. Over time the laser detritus will build up in inaccessible areas (like power supply components that won’t like the added insulation) and likely lead to earlier component failures.

If I was Bambu, I’d be soft-peddling the feature. The fewer customers who buy it, the better off they’ll probably be…

I just a H2C with a 10w laser. I am looking for tips or “what-not-to-do”. if you all are talking.. i will be listening and responding.. the laser i think is neat, just learning what i can do with it is the drawback.
