How do you spend your points?

I don’t think gift cards are actually bound to your account, though it wouldn’t be hard for them to do the digging and find them attached, they really need to be only usable by the person claiming them

Nothings stopping you selling printers though, even if it’s against the tos

MakerWorld still sits in the hobby realm for me, I only make things I want (or my family/friends want) and put them on mw. I mainly sell 3d prints and work a full time job for my income so this is all just a hobby paying for itself

Yeah, in makerworld you can click on redemption history and click through all the cards you ever redeemed for points, see their current value and their code. They definitely have that data and it’s definitely associated to accounts. I’m sure they’d have no problem finding who originally redeemed points for a specific card code.

For printers it might take a bit more work, but I’m sure serial numbers are tracked along with the orders for the sake of inventory. It just doesn’t seem worth the trouble at all.

How do you use the gift cards? I bought the $40.00 gift card with my points and Makerworld said I recieved it but I cant see it anywhere and I assume when I order filament it will allow me to use it? I hope you can tell me that is what will happen because now I cant even find mention of my gift card.

On makerworld click the yellow gem

and Redemption History
you should see a list of all the cards you bought. You can get their code there.

When you order something use the card’s code in the Discount Code section. You can use as many as you want for the same order.

Anyone in the UK used the redeem cash option?
How exactly does it work?
I see you can redeem USD and that goes to your wallet in the Creator Center where you can add payout details - but that just seems to be name/address etc, but not bank details?
There’s also mention of taxation and VAT, how does that work?
Final question, can you get paid in GBP? (I saw mention of EUR somewhere)

Thanks

I haven’t yet, but I will be soon.

I believe the idea is it gets redeemed as USD no matter which country you are in.

I believe you will receive any appropriate currency exchange fees when it eventually makes it to your bank.

They are stating that YOU are responsible for any taxation and not them.

Income tax at the full rate of 25% or 40% depending on your normal income. If you run a business, you are also responsible for any VAT it attracts.

Bank details come after a successful cash redemption, they take a period to determine if you are honest or a criminal and undeserving of the money.
