same! our nephew just found out about it and can’t wait to get him an A1 mini!
Also - COME’ON announce the next printer Bambu! XD
looks like redeeming points to shop money is over… that’s bad.
Nope…
my bad… dint find that info right away
Up until now, I’ve spent my points on filaments (more than 40 rolls), spare parts (hardened nozzles/complete hotends, hardened extruder gear etc.) - and an AMS unit.
But most of October as well as the entirety of November, I’ve saved up, so my next purchase will be a P1S combo with a range of spare parts, to mirror my current setup.
This will greatly speed up my prototyping process as well as enable me to do larger/longer prints easier (because I don’t need to plan for the printer being available for emergency prints) as I will now have redundancy.
Who else is hoarding vouchers for the upcoming high-end printer? I wonder how many we will need…?
Yep, the hoard is growing! Waiting for the release
I’m looking forward to it, but for my own use case it’s hard for me to justify spending points on anything over a P1S. I don’t print fancy materials and I’m a simple, boring man. My ideal printer would be a quiet version of the P1S.
In other words, something as quiet as the A1 mini, but with the standard AMS (just because it’s so much more convenient than the AMS lite and it’s sealed). The p1s is so loud and clonky I can’t use it during meetings or while I work because I find it too distracting…
I got an A1M early this year, and a P1S more recently. It was definitely a shock on how loud it was compared to the A1M lol
Yeah same. I had an A1 mini, then an A1 (which I later traded for another mini), then the P1S. My experiences keep getting louder.
The noise the AMS makes compared to AMS light is crazy to me. AMS sounds like it’s really working super hard to push that filament through lol
Agreed.
I keep saying I am… then I spend each one within a few hours of getting it .
New and shiny wins every time.
I just want to make sure it does not seem like I am complaining.
If there is any doubt, this is how I feel about receiving MW points.
Points?? What are you all talking about?
Are you joking or are you unaware you can earn points for sharing models others can print in .MakerWorld and even earn points each month my rating models you have printed?
You can redeem these points for items or gift cards to be spent in the Bambu Lab store, depending on your agreement you can redeem into cash instead.
I started with the P1S and then got a mini with my first set of points.
And I love how quiet it is. I use it a lot more when I’m working from home cause I can have meetings when it’s running.
I then got another few minis for a local charity.
Now hoarding for the new unicorn printer.
I almost certainly won’t need it, but if I have enough vouchers to make it affordable it will be tempting and can give the P1S to someone deserving.
Otherwise I’ll look for some more local charities who need a printer or two…
It’s not going to last, but it’s fun having a hobby that’s paying for itself for a while!
I have a lot to catch up to on this thread but until then I’ll just answer the main question
I’m currently making about one gift card every 1.5-2 days. I used to save them for a bulk filament order and get 8-10 rolls free, I grabbed 4 A1 Mini combos with mine (already had a p1p) and one of the A1Ms is still in its box and might be gifted to a family member.
I can’t use them fast enough, I have a LOT of maker supply stuff that I just got for when inspiration strikes, and Since the 10 year change, I’ve been just stockpiling them in a notepad document for the upcoming printer in 2025
I currently have about 1200AUD worth but this printer will probably end up being 3000+ in dollarydoos
In response to some of the stuff here about changing the value etc,
I just wish they would stop them being gift cards and make it credit on your account. I’ve always wondered what people earning much more than me do with their points… and then I found out that allegedly a certain AI-using friend of ours might be selling their gift cards on telegram and the point farming accounts thing finally made sense
Is someone really selling cards? I have seen sus printers and other bambulab things on eBay, but even donating anything you get from the rewards goes against the mw user agreement and can get the account banned.
Given how much of the ecosystem is cloud-based, it really does not seem worth it to me and it’s not something I ever wish to deal with. I shall hoard points like a fat, lazy dragon until I have a use for them again.
