How do you stack your AMS's?

Wooohooo! Sexy ghosty setup! :joy:

That shelf you linked is perfect for the ams!

now i require the link to this shelf, probably much cheaper than me printing it lol

update: found your link, checked the price, sigh i’ll just print a couple more…

It’s a big deal if your print job has 1000 filament changes and each takes 3s longer.

But whats the alterative? If you want more than 4 ams slots. You could take that argument to the extreme and say we should just be running one color, with the spool mounted directly above and center of the machine, because anything else adds time.

Already stated.

Reduce the PTFE tube so there isn’t any excess, but it is still flexible enough to allow the filament an unencumbered path.

Position how ever many AMS as close as possible to the printer based on the above point.

Yet no one did nor suggested anything close.

The entire point was about reducing the travel time of filaments through multiple PTFE tubes, why you thought your conclusion to well made points was related confuses me.

The only one who mentioned removing all but one AMS was you.

Oh ok. I thought you were talking about what you were seeing in this thread. And how people were stacking ams units. And talking about how longer runs add time. I just pointed out that if the added time is a problem, you could take it the opposite way and shorten stuff as much as possible to save time. Or the ultimate savior of time…single color. I like to leave a little slack for moving without having to disconnect

My actual response was for @Alex_vG though. I wouldnt want to stress you out. I know yoube been on your death bed for a couple years now. Hope you feel better.

I think I missed your post of how you stack them.

Is it ridiculously expensive where you live or something? It’s only 33 bucks. Granted they were like 10 dollars cheaper back when I bought mine lol. There’s other ones on Amazon too that are a little cheaper.

Are you ridiculing my terminal illness?

Yes, I am on borrowed time, it seems my not being dead yet upsets you enough to be flippant about my overdue death.

I was the one who originally brought up the point in question, with @Alex_vG concurring.

No one said it was.

You clearly did.

Nope. Just saying ive always tried to be nice to you, on purpose.

haha no it’s just not worth it for me if I can print something similar with 15$ filaments :stuck_out_tongue:

True, I guess I was just feeling lazy lol.

How sturdy is it? I plan on putting the stack on the h2d

I probably wouldn’t put it on top of the H2D. With how much the printer moves and shakes, I wouldn’t stack anything on top of it except a single ams if I had to. I prefer nothing on top though.

I assume the H2D won’t wobble any more than the X1C will it? And it can easily cope with that …

It looks like it has two arms holding the whole thing up.

You should add some very large googly eyes.

The H2D has significant more wobble than an X1C.

It wobbles a lot more than the x1-c. Mounting the AMS units to the top like your picture probably won’t be an issue, but a free standing stack is asking for trouble lol.

Man that dude is so argumentative with people and goes on with quotes. I’m glad you mentioned he’s going through some stuff so we can tip toe through the tulips. :joy:

I defend myself when others make stuff up or pretend I said things I didn’t.

My impending death has nothing to do with that.

A few brand-new accounts were set up in the last few days solely to downvote me and attack me. It appears some do not like it when I offer so much help to so many; the statistics prove this.

I am nice to those who are decent, and I apologise when I get things wrong.

Others have used my terminal status as a joke or a punching bag; that is on them. Some find it funny to call for my death, others reference it, and then pretend they didn’t bring it up.

Using the forum tools exactly as designed they should be to make things clear, shame on me.

Sorry if this is happening to you malc. I only knew from you posting about it. Sorry I even brought it up. Just seems like youve had a rough time lately on the forum. I truly hope you feel better.
