Hi, I have seen a lot of posts which rave about the use of Soft Fever rather than standard Studio with respect to reducing or removing artefacts.
Can someone tell me:
How to install this software?
If it can be uninstalled back to the original Studio?
Does it negate the warranty for the printer in anyway?
You can install the SoftFever version of Bambu Studio without affecting the official version. It doesn’t really install - it just unpacks into a folder and you run it from there. There is no impact on your warranty.
Download the ZIP for your computer and un-zip it to a folder. Inside that folder will be an executable named Bambu-Studio - run it. You’ll want to log in to your Bambu account just like you would otherwise. There isn’t much documentation, but ther Calibration · SoftFever/BambuStudio-SoftFever Wiki (github.com) page is useful. Most of the setting names are linked to documentation pages.
Otherwise, use it like you would Bambu Studio. It has some more settings available, which may not appear until you select Advanced.

I cant find any executable file in the zip folder. Should I even bother getting this software and is it worth it compared to the original. Sorry Im kinda new to this
Let me suggest that you don’t jump into the SoftFever version until you’ve got more experience with printing and want finer control over slicing. There is an executable, but if you’re on Windows and have not changed defaults, the file types are hidden from you.
The official version is fine, especially if you are new to the hobby.
@JeffIreland go to this github page and chose the correct .dmg file for your Mac, either Intel or ARM version, then click on the .dmg file, it will unpack and you copy the program file to the program folder. Then you open that program. Pretty easy … Releases · SoftFever/OrcaSlicer · GitHub
