How install Bambu Network Plugin

Hi, a complete beginner to Bambu here.

I installed Bambu Studio on my Mac some time ago, then we bought a printer, installed Bambu Handy and bound the printer to our username.

Now I return to Studio and click on Devices. I can see the temperatures and what’s in the AMS, but I can’t see the video from the camera or get it to respond to commands. I think I saw an MQTT error message once too.

I suspect I missed out on installing Bambu Network Plugin.

However, my problem now is to find a way of installing it. Google searches don’t help. There are no menu items visible in Studio. So how could I do it?

In Windows, you have to agree to the plugin installation as part of the Studio installation, if the plugin is not already present. A new version of Studio was released today, try downloading it and updating, see if that also updates the plugin.

Thanks, but I’m using MacOS. I suspect I chose some “install later” option when first installing Studio. Isn’t there a web site somewhere from which I could just download the plugin? I guess I’m used to that way of things working.

I think the plugin options are either Install or Cancel, not later. I have never seen an option install the plugin except as part of the overall Studio installation. The option does reappear during a Studio update if no existing plugin is installed, or if the existing plugin is outdated.

I would expect the Mac version to work in the same way, which is why I suggested a re-install or update. You really do not have anything to lose with an update to the most recent version, or a re-installation of an old version.

Some things to try if not done so already:

Not near my Mac so cannot check but see if there is a menu or preference to reinstall the network plugin or see if check for updates offer to install it.

Per this Wiki article make sure VPN isn’t running.

Another post I found suggested quitting and restarting Studio would install or prompt to install the plugin.

Thanks. I updated to 2.2.1.58. Now the camera works and clicking on the bulb icon in Studio worked also, so it looks like it’s responding to commands. I’ll check out printing tomorrow - it’s getting late here.

No VPN running and just restarting had no effect. As I mentioned above, updating seems to have done the trick.

And the printing works fine too.
