How is the plate code (QR) read?

Hi @ all,

I’ve been trawling through the internet all day, but so far I’ve only ever found pages where the QR codes the build plates are recognized with are explained and/or offered for download. But I haven’t found the answer to my question, yet:

How is the QR code on the build plate read? :thinking:

Especially with the P1S. With the X1, I would have guessed that the lidar had a hand in it. But my P1S doesn’t have a lidar. So … :person_shrugging:

It’s a simple as… it’s not read on a P series printer. You can put the wrong plate in and the printer won’t skip a beat.

By the way, it’s not a QR code - it’s an ArUco marker. You can read about them at OpenCV: Detection of ArUco Markers and a generator is at Online ArUco markers generator (chev.me)
